Abstract

This study focused mainly on the design and development of a machine that can process ruminants’ feeds using azolla and leftover breads. The ruminant feed processing machine can produce crumbled to powdered ruminant feed suitable for consumption of large size to even small size ruminants. It employed developmental research which includes engineering design, planning and analysis and at the same time experimental in nature since it analyzed the different research parameters involved in producing the very outputs, the ruminants’ feeds using the locally available materials.The results is a well designed and constructed programmable logic controlled machine for azolla and bread out of the materials from the local market which is controlled and monitored by the support of programmable logic controller that can produce a production rate of 0.42kg/min, and it is safe. As for future use and application for possible commercialization of the output is the operational manual and maintenance checklist which is essential in the utilization of the project.
